I wanted to take this time to tell you about my own weight loss journey.
One of the challenges I faced was that after completing a diet I would regain the weight I had lost. I discovered I needed to look at all aspects that affected my ability to lose weight including past, present and future behaviours. I learned in order to achieve permanent weight loss, we need to understand why we gained the weight. To do this it is important for us to look at past patterns or habits, because if we don’t, we will revert to old habits and keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again.
Mindful eating is about developing the kind of eating habits you don’t have to be anxious about. You don’t have to worry about counting calories, weighing food, or omitting everything that makes eating enjoyable. You learn to tune into your body and eat naturally again.
